Chaungtha is a beautiful beach resort in the Ayeyarwaddy Division. It is the first beach closest from Yangon, just a 5 hours drive. The second closest one is Ngwe Saung, which is very popular among locals.

You can go to Chaungtha beach with by air and car. There is no flight directly from Yangon to Chaungtha Beach. But you can go Chaungtha Beach via Pathein airport and it takes one hour to go there by car.

Our suggestion is to choose bus is the best way to go there. There are many package tour company in Yangon. It will take about 2 Nights/ 3 Days. You can also go with Yangon-Pathein-Chaungtha bus, it located in Hlaing Thar Yar township.

The Hlaing Thar Yar Bus terminal, also known as the Dagon Ayer Bus Station is located about 15 kilometers east of Yangon city across the Hlaing River. The easiest way to get to this bus station is with a taxi. A taxi will take about 30 to 45 minutes, depending traffic.
